About me

I’m Andres Montesinos, a first-year PhD student in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Utah.

I completed all of my studies in Mexico, including a master’s degree in Pure Mathematics at CIMAT in Guanajuato. I earned my master’s degree in May 2026 under the supervision of Professors Javier Carvajal-Rojas and Luis Núñez-Betancourt.

My research interests lie in commutative algebra and algebraic geometry in positive characteristic. In particular, I am interested in algebraic invariants of rings, such as class groups, with a particular focus on cluster algebras.
